Manchester City celebrates 125 years with a retro shirt
It will be worn already during the Community Shield match against Liverpool
August 1st, 2019
Manchester United fans have always indicated to Manchester City fans to belong to a club without history and tradition. The Red Devils certainly have a more successful past but the Citizens have 125 years of history, to be celebrated during this season.
In the event held at the City Football Academy, in which the club's future projects were introduced, the team also previewed a special anniversary jersey, with a retro flavor, which will be worn starting from the Community Shield scheduled Sunday against the Liverpool.

It was David Silva who showed us the shirt made together with the new sponsor PUMA, which presents a basic design with details in gold and white, to stand out against the typical light blue of the Citizens.
The inside neck of the shirt also contains a copy of the Club’s founding document, signed by Joshua Parlby, who played an instrumental role in leading the members of Ardwick AFC to found and incorporate Manchester City Football Club.
Already within the Home, Away and Third kits presented in the past few weeks, elements were added to celebrate the anniversary, but this initiative increases the club's historic reach, as well as confirming the anniversary jersey trend.
The new Manchester City shirt will be made in only 1894 examples, numbered and sold starting August 29th through a drawing.
