UMBRO 95 - STYLE ON THE FIELD
The first exhibition of 95 iconic Umbro jerseys at BASE Milano, from September 12th to 14th
September 4th, 2019
The football shirt is more than just a sports item, it is the object that contains the emotions, the memories, and the aesthetics of the most beautiful sport in the world. For fans and fans, Umbro is the brand that more than anyone else marked the design of football shirts between the 80s and 90s, through sporting victories, personalities, and revolutionary design.
On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the English brand, nss sports presents UMBRO 95 - STYLE ON THE FIELD: an exhibition that brings together 95 iconic jerseys produced by Umbro, a unique experience between soccer and design at BASE Milano, from September 12th to 14th. A unique and unprecedented event in Italy, created in collaboration with Classic Football Shirts website and strongly backed by NewAge Spa, the Italian licensee of the brand and the absolute architect of Umbro's great return to our country.
The exhibition offers a 360-degree tour through the Umbro brand and the football style, starting from the stadiums up to contemporary streetwear. The exhibition will be divided into three sections: HISTORY in which will be on display the jerseys that have marked the history of Umbro in the world but especially in Italy, where Umbro sponsored Inter, Milan, Lazio and Parma in the 90s. The DESIGN area is dedicated to the kaleidoscopic patterns of Ajax shirts, from the early years of the Premier League to the most striking goalkeeper uniforms, up to the jerseys that inspired new streetwear brands such as Patta, Supreme and Palace.
The last ICONS section is dedicated to the personalities that have consecrated Umbro as one of the reference brands of the British style: from the Gallagher brothers to Paul Gazza Gascoigne, along with legends like Eric Cantona and the class of '92 of Manchester United.
The exhibition, curated by nss sports in collaboration with Classic Football Shirts and NewAge, will be accompanied by talks with industry experts, a custom jersey workshop and a gaming area with a nostalgic taste, on which we will soon spill all the details.
Access to the exhibition is free by registration
