The Inter Milan 2019/2020 Third Kit
Back to the 90s
September 9th, 2019
We had been waiting for it for a long time and we saw it for the first time yesterday, on the occasion of the Monza Italian F1 Grand Prix, worn by Tedua and Matilde Gioli: we are talking about the new Inter Milan Third Kit made by Nike and released a few days later those very vintage of Chelsea and Tottenham. In common with the Blues and Spurs jerseys and with all the other Third Kits produced by Nike for the 2019/2020 season (we are still waiting for those of PSG, Barcelona, AS Roma and Atletico Madrid) there is the famous 90s logo 'Nike Futura'.
Also in this case the inspiration comes from the past and precisely from two shirts worn by the Nerazzurri during the 1997/1998 and 2009/2010 seasons: the first is the Ronaldo's Inter shirt with the unforgettable dark background with yellow details; the second one is that of Treble with the typical crew neck collar. In addition to having many references to the two old kits, the jersey is a clear tribute to the Pirelli sponsor, together with the Milanese club since 1995. It's no coincidence, therefore, that it was unveiled during the most famous Formula 1 race in Italy.
To confirm that, here's the statement from the Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director, Pete Hoppins:
“Black and yellow is always a winning combination, and Inter’s third kit looks especially dynamic. We’ve taken inspiration from two special older kits, kept things on trend with the ’90s themes we are seeing in streetwear at the moment and the result is something that we hope will appeal to all fans.”
The jersey, that includes black shorts and socks, will be worn on the occasion of the European matches of the team coached by Antonio Conte, already available on the official online store. It's not to be excluded that in addition to the match shirt there will be a real dedicated capsule.
