New Balance takes Liverpool FC to the court over Nike's deal
According to the Reds' current technical supplier there's a particular clause that would have been ignored

The official statement is not already arrived, but the agreement that will sanction the replacement from New Balance to Nike as Liverpool's new technical sponsor, starting next season, is almost concluded. But in the meantime, as reported by The Athletic, the American brand based in Boston would appeal to the High Court against the current European champion club. According to New Balance, in fact, a clause contained in the contract that would allow the current supplier to match the offer and be able to extend the relationship beyond May 2020, the date on which it is destined to end, would not have been respected.
About the current agreement, New Balance pays 45 million pounds per season to the Reds, a figure much lower than that offered by Nike, 75 or perhaps even more millions per year according to the most reliable reports that would increase the income of the English club, bringing it closer to the great European clubs.
