To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Lille launched a special edition jersey, that the French team will wear against Dijon FCO in Ligue 1, on Saturday the 29th. To pay homage to the early years of LOSC, the Lille commemorative shirt sees the return of the distinctive red ‘V’ design, which stands out on the white base. The chevron also features the 'Fleur de Lis', the club’s first ever crest following the fusion of Olympique Lillois and SC Fives 75 years ago, in 1944.
The jersey - part of the “Face Anything Fear Nothing” campaign for the 2019/20 season - has been developed using innovative NB DRY technology, a moisture wicking technology that helps keep players fresh and dry from the first to final whistle. A limited number of jerseys will be sold (1944), each embossed with the Lille emblem, under which the club has won three home league titles and six Coupe de France trophies. General Manager of New Balance Football, Kenny McCullum said:
“The 75th anniversary jersey is a fitting tribute to a hugely important milestone for LOSC. We really wanted to create a design that celebrates their identity and this shirt does exactly that”.
