The latest football-music collabo concerning a football shirt (a few days ago we told you about the Fortuna Dusseldorf x Die Toten Hosen) is that between West Ham and Iron Maiden: two East London realities that unite thousands of fans of football and heavy metal fans. For this reason the London team and the famous band have collaborated for the creation of a new kit, on the impulse of the founder, bassist and songwriter Steve Harris, who has been a fan since 1965 and played for West Ham’s youth team as a teenager: “I went to see West Ham with a friend play against Newcastle when I was nine. We jumped on a bus and went to the game, and they won 4-3 and that was it. I was hooked!”

The new version of the kit - called 'Die With Your Boots On' like the famousIron Maiden's song - features the lettering IMFC alongside the club’s crest, and the band’s name across the chest, replacing the sponsor. West Ham’s defender Pablo Zabaleta also spoke about the kit: “Iron Maiden are a huge icon back home in South America and it’s great for fans of West Ham and the band to be able to show their support for both”. West Ham’s licensing manager Tracey Stratton said the collaboration made “perfect sense … One weekend last summer our club shop was inundated with rock fans from all across the globe, and we realised that Iron Maiden were playing two sold out shows at the O2 Arena in London.”
