Arsenal presented the new retro collection with a crazy video
The new Gunners capsule includes a remake of the famous 'bruisded banana' kit
December 10th, 2019
After many anticipations and clues via social, Arsenal has unveiled the new retro collection, which includes a remake of the historic Gunners away kit with the 'bruised banana' pattern (1991-1993). An iconic pattern that marked an era, straddling the transition from First Division to Premier League, when Arsenal was among the most accredited clubs for winning the title. The collection was presented through a video, in which there are several Arsenal players, from Héctor Bellerín to Leah Williamson (female Arsenal player), through Alexandre Lacazette, David Luiz, Bakar (also author of the song in the teaser) and Ian Wright, often present in similar Gunners videos, like the one posted last July on the occasion of the partnership with adidas.

The kit has become famous in the history of the Gunners, both for the pattern, and because it marked the historic double League Cup and FA Cup in 1992-1993. The kit is obviously the highlight of the collection, which also includes tracksuits, windbreakers and sweatshirts, all entirely inspired by that period, with the logos adidas Originals and Arsenal (used from 1949 to 2002).The jersey - on sale at 89,95€ and produced in recycled plastic - is a faithful replica of the iconic kit, with the 'bruised banana' reproduced on the entire jersey, blue and yellow with the blue three stripes, red inserts and 'JVC' sponsors on the chest, with Arsenal and adidas logos perhaps too close to each other compared to the original design. The rest of the collection maintains the link with the '90s, without the yellow-blue pattern, with the red-white-blue color scheme, which is repeated in all the other items of the capsule.
The Arsenal retro collection will be available from 9am on Wednesday 11 December, on the adidas football and Arsenal sites.
