"Glorius Moments", the capsule collection by Diadora and HANON
A return to 12 September 2007, when Scotland faced France
May 31st, 2023
It was Wednesday 12 September 2007, and Scotland were facing France, playing as World Cup finalists, on their home turf. The previous year the French had been beaten in Glasgow, while now the Scots were second in the standings with only four games to go in the final, very little to go and qualification was very close indeed. Inspired by that famous night in Paris, HANON and Diadora turned their partnership on its head to present a capsule collection: "Moments of Glory", combining the Diadora Intrepid with the distinctive '07-'08 sky blue cross jersey.
A match that went down in history and is impossible to forget at a distance. A very challenging match for both sides who struggled to create any real goal chances, until the 64th minute when it finally came alive again, more precisely, when Craig Gordon's pass collided with the feet of James McFadden. Moments of glory indeed that HANON and Diadora have encapsulated in a shoe, featuring a suede upper in a warm grey colour, with a premium mesh at the base, dark blue nappa leather and nubuck overlays in bright blue. And also in a jersey with a vintage feel, being a perfect re-issue and instantly recognisable by its distinctive design and being worn during 'that' fateful goal.
