Tunisia's new jerseys for the African Cup of Nations
Made by Kappa with graphics inspired by the El Jem amphitheater
January 5th, 2024
Tunisia travel to the upcoming Africa Cup of Nation, which kicks off on 13 January, not with the favour of the hour, but with the desire to break a two-decade continental drought. The team will line up in new kits signed by Kappa, the historic technical sponsor of the Saharan national team, who have chosen to honour the African country's deep history for the occasion. The pattern on the front of the jersey is inspired by the amphitheatre of El Jem, one of the region's most important historical monuments, built in the 3rd century and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.
The colours chosen are the classic colours of the Tunisian flag; the first jersey is red and the second is white with red inserts on the collar and sleeves. The collar of both jerseys is polo-shaped and fastens with a button. The second eye-catching detail is the Kappa Omini logo made of transparent material. This is one of the many customisations the Italian brand has made in recent years for the teams it sponsors to give their jerseys a special touch. Tunisia will make their debut at the African Cup of Nations on 16 January against Namibia, while the jerseys will be worn for the first time at the friendly against Mauritania on 6 January.
