The Away jersey of Tottenham comes from the 80s
A tribute to the away jerseys of the North London team
June 24th, 2024
As Euro2024 is in full swing, Tottenham Hotspur has launched its Away jersey for the 2024/25 season, created by Nike. An homage to the away kits worn by the North London team during the 1980s, with light blue stripes that bring back memories of some of the most iconic eras in the club's history. The various shades of blue create a vertical movement throughout the design of the jersey, with a treatment that recalls the eighties aesthetic of early video games and cathode ray tube TVs.
These elements are the protagonists of the jersey launch video, a dive into the club's past when a similar design was worn by Paul Gascoigne and Gary Lineker. To give a futuristic touch to a classic Nike design, the club's emblem is featured at the center of the jersey. The sleeves and neckline are characterized by a yellow and white stripe, which is the common thread among all the jerseys of this season. Another reference to the club's glorious past, founded in 1882 in the heart of the City.
