The new Atletico Madrid Away jersey is just beautiful
Inspired by the Fountain of Neptune in Madrid
July 30th, 2024
Atletico Madrid follows in the footsteps of Real Madrid by presenting the new Away jersey for the 2024/25 season, in a completely new color. Nike and the Colchoneros have designed a jersey that at first glance may seem gray - the last time the club used this color was the 2014/15 season, although it is described as light-beige blue on the official Swoosh and club websites. The jersey is inspired by the Fountain of Neptune, one of the most characteristic monuments in the city of Madrid. This is an iconic place for the club’s fans: it was there that they gathered to celebrate the victory of LaLiga in the 1995/1996 season. Like last season, Atletico Madrid uses its history and tradition as a starting point for the creation of new kits, although the one just released is completely different in terms of color and design from the old one.
Among the many peculiarities, the collar is crossed by a white and a red stripe, but most notably it is presented in the classic round version, unlike the Home jersey, which has been available for a few weeks. The club’s crest is in total red. Just as seen on Chelsea’s jerseys, the intentions of the Swoosh for this season seem clear: the Home and Away jerseys feature two completely different collar versions, while the Third jerseys (not yet available on the market) will feature an inverted Swoosh.
