adidas EQT's colors on Newcastle's new Third kit.
The same ones worn during the 1999/00 season

Today, Newcastle unveils the Third kit for the 2024/2025 season, in which they must confirm the good performances of the first half of last Premier League. While waiting for the Away kit, which has not yet been presented, the Magpies and adidas thrill their fans by revisiting the color scheme used during the 1999/00 season. The Third kit, the color scheme not only recalls the old Newcastle kit but also the famous adidas line, EQT. This line was created by designers Robert Strasser and Peter Moore, who aimed to establish a new department of simple, functional, performance-oriented sneakers. The line has always focused on clothing for all types of sports, from running to volleyball, basketball, football, and even fencing.
Another significant addition to the new Newcastle Third kit is the crest, the same one that has been present on the club's shirt from 1983 to 1988. Newcastle thus becomes the second Premier League club, after Aston Villa, to play with a new logo in the upcoming season starting on August 16. Unlike the Birmingham club, Newcastle will only showcase it on the third kit, which we will likely see in rare occasions compared to the Home and Away versions. According to several leaks, the away kit will also draw from the past: it will most likely be a re-issue of the jersey used in the 1995/96 season with burgundy and navy blue stripes. Nonetheless, the work done by adidas with the Magpies seems truly exceptional, especially as it is perfectly oriented to the past: the brand has managed to dig into its archives and the club's heritage. There is no doubt: even without having debuted on the pitch yet, it has already outperformed the disastrous Castore.
