PUMA has outdone itself with the Anniversary jersey of Olympique Marseille
The 125th birthday of the French team was celebrated with a special kit

From tonight, the Olympique Marseille website will have available the Anniversary jersey that celebrates the team's 125th birthday. An important milestone, which highlights the role of the society founded in 1899 by René Dufaure de Montmirail in the French football scene and which continues to be a reference both in terms of style and results. The club, now managed by Italian coach De Zerbi, was inspired by the values of the new, for the time, modern Olympic Games created only a few years earlier by Baron de Coubertain, and maintains its elegant and clean look. The jersey, made by PUMA, is in fact a direct reference to those worn by the club at the beginning of the last century, all in white with tone-on-tone details - such as the logos of technical and commercial sponsors - and a buttonless polo collar. The OM emblem, on the other hand, is the one used in the year of the club's foundation, in blue with the M breaking the Olympic ring.
But in such a minimalistic kit, one must look for the details that make it special, such as the hidden founding year on the sleeve cuffs or the original wax seal symbol printed on the back-neck, in addition to the PUMA Anniversary patch on the right side of the jersey. Launched through a very suggestive video, the Olympique Marseille kit is one of the most successful results among the many commemorative jerseys that now fill the calendar of sportswear brands. A trend that has become a must for both clubs and sponsors to tell a love story towards the fans in a football world that sometimes seems to have forgotten its popular origins.
