The Argentina national jersey is a wonderful throwback

50 years ago, adidas created the first kit for the Argentina national team. Over the following decades, the two have shared a mostly continuous relationship, with only a few interruptions in sponsorship, notably with Le Coq Sportif and Reebok. Otherwise, it’s been a strong partnership, filled with history and crowned by two of Argentina’s three World Cup titles. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, adidas has created an apparel collection and a match kit. The design is inspired by the kit worn by the Argentine national team back in 1974, with the iconic stripes in traditional colors.

The look is completed with the Trefoil logo and a 1970s-style Argentina crest, both in gold to celebrate the team’s achievements over the years, including the latest World Cup win in 2022. Inside the collar, there is a special graphic with a laurel wreath and the sun symbol from the Argentine flag, accompanied by the phrase "En el alma y en la piel" ("In the soul and on the skin"). Other features include the inscription "50 AÑOS," a tribute to the 50 years of partnership between the two, and three stars symbolizing the three World Cup titles. The other key items in the collection are the Three Stripes Beckenbauer tracksuit and a lifestyle t-shirt.
