Even Greenland has its hummel jersey
The world's most northern national team launches its new kit

Playing football in Greenland is not easy: 80% of the territory is covered by an ice cap and for eight months of the year, playing outdoors is prohibited. Despite this, and despite having one of the lowest population densities in the world, the Arctic island and its people are united by football. With over one in ten residents actively playing this sport, football in Greenland is much more than just a game. It is a community that brings people together and creates a unique sense of identity. The Federation has changed sponsors, switching from Macron to hummel, and has today launched the Home jersey that will be used in upcoming official matches. The Danish brand has created a kit that intends to celebrate the local football community that unites Greenland despite the large distances and rich traditions of the country.
The message of the campaign "The Remote Football Community" symbolizes how soccer is able to bridge physical and environmental divides, from the ice cap to the most remote villages. The jersey is decorated with motifs that celebrate Greenlandic culture, including symbols such as the tupilak and the tuukkaq'er, both rooted in Greenlandic mythology. The tupilak represents strength and spiritual guidance, while the tuukkaq symbolizes courage and masculinity. The jersey also includes elements of traditional Greenlandic craftsmanship, including the avittat motifs commonly found on kamiks and national costumes. These motifs pay homage to Greenlandic arts and crafts, which are an important part of the country's proud identity and traditions.
"We are incredibly proud to launch this national team jersey in collaboration with KAK. Greenland has a truly unique soccer community and our ambition was to create a jersey that reflects the pride and strong cohesion that soccer promotes. Inspired by Greenlandic culture, the jersey has become a symbol of both the nation's traditions and its future on the international soccer scene," says Morten Lund, marketing director of hummel.
