Aston Villa in full Nosferatu style With the release of the all-black kit for the 150th anniversary

The 2025 season for Aston Villa kicked off in style with the release of a special kit to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the club's founding. An all-black kit, with even the adidas logo hidden. The only splash of color comes from the red Scottish rampant lion, a symbol the club adopted in 1878. Naturally, the original lion of Aston Villa has been modernized and turned to the right, in order to align with the current logo, thus creating a sense of continuity between the past and present. The lion is then placed within a circular frame, which, according to the original concept shared on the Villans' Instagram profile, is inspired by the medals won by the Villans around 1890.

Among the custom-made details for this special occasion, there is also the elegant cursive logo placed on the back of the collar and another diamond-shaped logo on the lower front of the kit, the aesthetics of which are inspired by the stadium where Aston Villa plays its home games, characterized by stained glass windows on the exterior.

The photoshoot's atmosphere matched the aesthetic of the new kit that the Villans are set to wear in the upcoming home match against West Ham on Friday, January 27. The dark aesthetic was chosen, in full Nosferatu style – notably, the shot featuring Unai Emery in the role of Count Orlok, with several candelabras in the background. In addition to the kit, a lifestyle collection has also been released.

The collection is available on the Aston Villa website.
