The new Genoa collection inspired by the 1999/00 season

A dive into the past in true Kappa style

The new Genoa collection inspired by the 1999/00 season A dive into the past in true Kappa style

The 1999/00 season was not the brightest in the history of Genoa, as the Grifone finished that Serie B campaign in sixth place, collecting only 56 points. However, it also marks the 25th anniversary of that season, during which the Ligurian club wore unforgettable jerseys. The famous Omini logo by Kappa, for the first time in the history of the partnership that would be repeated in the future between the two parties, were colored in gold, with Genoa reintroducing this color for the second time in its history, after 1994/95. Today, Genoa releases a collection inspired by the Home jersey worn in that season, while the Home and Third are a reinterpretation of those from the following season, namely 2000/2001.

With this launch, Genoa also aims to celebrate its history, that of a club that preserves a unique identity, increasingly enhancing the link between football and music, in a play of references that emphasize the similarities between local traditions and beyond. It is a commitment that seeks to connect the great sporting legacy, the cultural peculiarities of the territory, and windows into the new global worlds of entertainment. Recently, in Sanremo, a photoshoot was carried out to strengthen the partnership between the club and the Municipality, sealed by the themed patches worn by the players in the match in Torino. In collaboration with artist Bresh, the club also created an additional prototype of the jerseys – featuring the patch of his latest song, La Tana del Granchio – in line with the fusion of football and music.

The jerseys of the vintage collection are available exclusively on the Genoa online store and at the store on Via XX Settembre.
