The new season of MLS begins on Saturday, February 22, and as every year, but especially in the same way, the top soccer league has seen numerous new kits debut. This year, there are even two more than usual because in the Eastern and Western Conference standings, there is a new franchise: San Diego, so the total number of kits presented is 31, compared to the 29 of previous seasons. This is to remind that the kit release method in MLS is very particular: the kits change every two years, with teams alternating the presentations of Home and Away kits every season to make the production chain more sustainable and to appeal to a public that is not yet as intense as the European one. However, this season, San Diego represents a special case because, being a new entry in the Western Conference, it will have to present both kits.

Once again, for the third consecutive year, adidas will sponsor all 30 clubs, according to the $830 million contract signed in February 2023. A similar choice could be adopted by other smaller leagues around the world, such as in the Canadian Premier League, where the only licensee is Macron. These are the main features that distinguish a rapidly rising league, which today brings together young talents like Cavan Sullivan and legends who have made history in modern European football. FC Inter Miami - Home

The club owned by David Beckham kicked off the season by unveiling its first kit: pink and without major changes, except for the 'M', which is dedicated to the most important player in the entire league, Lionel Messi.

New York Red Bulls - Away

The Stone Kit released by New York Red Bulls is inspired by the architectural grid pattern of Stone Street in Manhattan. At the time, it was a groundbreaking design, and 400 years later, it remains one of the most iconic streets in New York.

Columbus Crew - Away

Intense days for Columbus Crew, which likely saw a spike in searches after Timothée Chalamet wore a vintage club jacket at the Berlin Film Festival. But also with the launch of the new Away kit inspired by Goosebumps. What’s the connection between Columbus Crew and the horror book series? The new Austin FC Home kit falls into the "boring" category. No creativity, just another plain and - honestly - dull take on the vertical stripes that always appear on the club’s home kits.

New York City FC - Home

Interesting is the pattern that characterizes the new New York City FC Home kit. The inspiration? The windows of skyscrapers that define the New York skyline.

FC Cincinnati - Home

Some clubs are more attached to their team colors than others: FC Cincinnati is one of those, with its blue and orange colors bringing the Heritage Kit to life.

Portland Timbers - Home

Portland Timbers celebrates half a century of history with its new Home kit. This kit also honors the success achieved in its first year of existence, 1975, before the club dissolved in 1982, was refounded, dissolved again, and refounded once more.

LA Galaxy - Away

Finally, a checkered kit, thanks to Real Salt Lake’s Away jersey. The design is not random; the checks pay homage to the urban design of Salt Lake City.

San Diego FC - Home & Away

If the morning shows the day, there’s little optimism for the new entry. Given that these are the first kits of the club's first MLS season, founded in 2023: two training jerseys, nothing more.
