The new Mexico jersey is already a classic
Between gold details and the return of the Trefoil, a masterpiece signed by adidas
March 14th, 2025
The Mexican National Team and adidas have always spoiled us during their long partnership, with creative and recognizable kits that highlighted the history and tradition of the Central American country. But with the latest jersey made for this season, it immediately stands out as one of the most beautiful and, we imagine, one of the best-selling. The design of the kit pays homage to an era in which Mexican cinema conquered the big screen and had a profound impact on the nation's identity, blending the country's cultural heritage with modernity and sophistication. The jersey celebrates Mexico's vibrant culture, incorporating elegance and refinement that reflect the soul of the country. Black returns to the spotlight, this time enriched with gold details, from the Three Stripes to the deconstructed Mexican crest, positioned alongside the adidas Trefoil logo in the center of the jersey.
This marks the return of the Trefoil on the Mexican jersey after over 30 years, evoking a strong nostalgia for the 1980s. Elements of Mexican cultural tradition are also present in the details of the collar and cuffs, inspired by the legendary Mariachi, paying tribute to the country's artistic and musical history. Pablo Cavallaro, Senior Marketing Director of adidas Mexico, stated: "This launch is a statement of identity, of pride; it is an opportunity for all Mexicans to wear the symbol of a culture that has left an indelible mark on the world. Mexico continues to be a country of reference in multiple disciplines and with this collection, fans can also be part of this history."
Ivar Sisniega, president of the Mexican Football Federation, emphasized the importance of the kit and its cultural significance: "For us, wearing this collection in the upcoming games is an honor. Bringing the passion of football to an international stage is like being part of a movie in which our Mexican heritage is told, not only through a script, but through every step, pass, and shot on the field. We are excited that this collection captures everything our culture represents." The Mexican national team will wear this new kit for the first time on March 21st, during the semi-final against Canada in the Concacaf Nations League, an important event on the road to the 2026 World Cup, which will be partly played on Mexican territory.
