Real Madrid returns to 1999
Finally, the adidas jerseys with the historic sponsor Teka are available again
April 10th, 2025
The Real Madrid takes a step back in time and officially revives the jerseys worn during the 1999/00 season, symbol of an era that marked the beginning of the modern legend of the Blancos. On the field there was the granite leadership of Hierro, the trajectories of Roberto Carlos and the British elegance of McManaman, but also the class of Raul and the technique of Guti. Today that jersey returns, and with it an unstoppable wave of nostalgia. Those were the years of the sponsor Teka, of polo shirts with contrasting collars, golden details, and a fit that almost resembled a basketball jersey as it fell from the shoulders. The technical revolutions of stretch and ultra-lightweight jerseys would only come in the following millennium. Real Madrid started that season poorly, but with the arrival of Vicente del Bosque as coach, they went on to win the Champions League, the first of the 2000s.
The white home jersey is characterized by a navy polo collar accentuated by three golden stripes - the same dual coloring can be found on the sleeves - and is signed with the inscription "RMFC" on the front. The black away jersey includes an all-black base with gold hems, sleeve cuffs and details; both jerseys feature the old school Teka sponsor on the front, while on the chest there are of course the adidas Three Stripes. For the return of this absolute classic, adidas has called upon club legends such as Guti, Marcelo, Fernando Morientes and others, along with Madrid personalities Delantero, DJ Mariio and Juan Bertheau.
