What do we know about KITH and adidas football collaboration?
Ronnie Fieg and Florencia Galarza unveiled details about the collabo between the two brands
May 19th, 2017
Florencia Galarza is one of the most important and well-known global ambassadors of adidas. Born in USA but with Italian and Argentinian roots, Galarza has been for years one of USA football’s guiding lights, promoting its image way beyond the football itself. In fact, thanks to his partnership with adidas, Galarza quickly become known globally, also for her unbelievable beauty. In 2015, just after participating to the New York marathon and focused on professional activity, Galarza decides to create a team to join the Bowery League, the semi-amateur league with both men and women. Previously, Galarza met another New York born, Ronnie Fieg, known by most people for being founder and designer of the KITH brand. The synergy between the two takes to the birth of KITH FC, team that participate - and win - to the Bowery League.
Since then we know very little about the KITH FC, and with the intensive crossover of football and fashion the hype keeps rising exponentially. Galarza, that can be considered the founder of KITH FC, gets signed by Boca Juniors’ female team where she stayed until a few months ago, when new pictures of adidas kits with the KITH logo as sponsor start to surface again. They also have another detail: a new crest with the “KITH Cobras” writing.
There are very few informations about that shirt, just some pictures published on Fieg’s Instagram profile of a shirt with different colors.
Today, we finally discovered about Ronnie Fieg, adidas and Florencia Galarza’s project. It’s about to born a new team, KITH Flamingos, a mixed team that will wear some kits specifically designed by KITH in collaboration with adidas. More, with an Instagram post Galarza opened the auditions to become part of the team, revealing another detail then confirmed by Fieg. With the kits, adidas also made available an entire set of shoes for the team, that - according with adidas’ recent tradition - will be available for all surfaces.
A big collaboration, that gave us the possibility - once more - to verify the enormous steps that football made towards streetwear, and vice-versa. A synergy that, if catalyzed properly, could bring the beautiful game to feed from a new energy and to lengthen its centenary life. What’s more: projects like this one can help the growth of small amateur leagues, making them more attractive for the big sponsors.
