A beautiful U.S. Men’s and Women's National Teams initiative: all players will go on field with rainbow numbers in support of the LGBTQ community throughout June. The special numbers will be printed on the jerseys of the next two US friendlies against Sweden and Norway, after having worn them last Saturday in the match against Venezuela.
The initiative is the result of collaboration with You Can Play Project, an organization that promotes respect and equality for all athletes, regardless of their sexual orientation. Already in 2016, the US national had been sensitive to certain issues through Captain Michael Bradley, who wore a rainbow captain in honor of the victims of the Pulse Night Club shooting.
To buy the shirts with the special numbering, just go to ussoccerstore.com, and obviously the proceeds will be donated to charity.
