The hottest topic in this NBA's preseason was sportswear for sure. The news were brought by Nike with all the jerseys releases, but also from adidas that overtook Jordan as the second sneaker brand in the US market. According to a report from Versus Reviews, Jordan has also fallen in another key measure of understanding shoe popularity. The research indicates more NBA players are wearing Kobe Bryant sneakers than Michael Jordan and the Nike Kobe A.D. is the most popular sneaker among NBA players.
The silhouette which helped mark the Black Mamba’s retirement is worn by 33 players while the second place Nike Hyperdunk 2016 is worn by 25. Rounding out the top 5 sneakers worn by NBA players are the Nike PG1 (20), adidas Crazy Explosive (19) and Nike KD 9 (18). Kobe’s sponsored sneakers in general also beat out Michael Jordan and LeBron James as the most popular athlete sneakers in the league with 58 players wearing them compared with 50 and 32 respectively. Speaking about brands instead, Nike is still dominating the players' feet with the 64 percent of the players wearing its sneakers, followed by adidas with just the 17.7 percent and Jordan with the 9.8 percent.
