NBA has never disdain to look at its own past, celebrating legends, teams, and places that made the league what it’s today. All the franchises have their own vintage uniform and often, during particularly important games of the season, past is celebrated with something special. That’s exactly what happened last night to the Milwaukee Bucks, that this time hasn't celebrated a particular event or a great player from the past, but their historic hardwood.

For the game against the long-time rivals Boston Celtics, the Bucks and Giannis - that played a spectacular game, even if they lost - went back playing at The Mecca, the historic field that through the Sixties and the Eighties hosted one of the most successful moments of the franchise. Other than playing at the old arena - that today is called UW Milwaukee Panther Arena - the franchise from Wisconsin also realized an accurate copy of the palace’s famous parquet, designed in 1977 by the artist Robert Indiana.

In fact, we’re talking about the greatest pop art opera ever realized, and it has been the gem of The Mecca since the very first time it was installed, known as “the floor that made Milwaukee famous”. Realized almost entirely in yellow, this geometric and linear design - with the “Mecca” writing highlighted on the center - has always been envied by the whole NBA and saw some of the best players of the league. For sure, it must have been an awesome flashback for all the fans, the players, and the people of Milwaukee. Too bad it was one nigth only.
