The coolest referee in the world is Kevin Friend

All we football boots enthusiasts - ok, football boots maniacs - love to watch games and spot all our favorite boots, the last releases, and the ones that we think are cooler. Many sites and social profiles even do what is called “boot spotting”, proper researches on all the latest releases on the pitches of the entire world. This weekend, a singular thing happened, as the spotlights were ‘stolen’ by a referee.

If usually, all the attention are on the footballers - or they feet - this was the time of Kevin Friend, Premier League referee that on Sunday, during the game between Southampton and Everton, showed a pair of one of the most hyped football boots of the last months. While all his colleagues usually set for a pair of adidas Copa Mundial or Nike Premier, Mr. Friend showed a fabulous pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor Flynkit Ultra. We’re talking about a boot that came out a while ago from the Montebelluna factory in Italy, and that right now has been worn just like players like Eden Hazard.

The “discover” was made thanks to the attention on the #RainbowLaces campaign, that allowed colored laces for the players in order to support the LGBT community. It didn’t take long to understand the coolest boots on the pitch were the referee’s ones and not one of the footballers’.
