San Lorenzo Newell's Old Boys unveil 2018 shirts
Argentinian vibe
January 23rd, 2018
South American football shirt culture is kind of strange and fascinating, definitely not for everyone. They are often full of sponsors, with poorly assorted colors and unoriginal designs, but nevertheless still manage to capture the essence of a club in a combination of colors - Boca's Oro y Azul of - or in a design - River's oblique band. In recent days San Lorenzo and Newell's Old Boys have presented the new sweaters for 2018, let's take a closer look
San Lorenzo de Almagro - Nike
San Lorenzo de Almagro is experiencing a great season: they are second in the league behind Boca and hopes to be able to blow the title to Xeneizes with Nicolás Blandi's goals. The new shirt designed by Nike has a very classic design with blue and red stripes, while the second shirt is white with the club's social colors only on the sleeves. The t-shirt is inspired and dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the glorious San Lorenzo of 1968, whose players were nicknamed the matadores. The team won four titles between 1968 and 1974. To see the new uniform of the San Lorenzo in the field it will be necessary to wait until February 4 when the team will face the Boca Juniors at the Bombonera.
Newell's Old Boys - Umbro
Liga Argentina club Newell’s Old Boys and their new kit supplier Umbro yesterday night revealed their new home and away kits for 2018. Umbro replaces adidas as kit supplier of Leo Messi's and will make Newell’s Old Boys kits until at least December 2020. The first Umbro Newell’s Old Boys home kit features the traditional red and black half-and-half design of the club. Newell’s Old Boys' new kit has a black/red mao collar. On the lower back of the jersey is the phrase "El más grande del Interior" (the biggest club in the interior of the country - a gibe to their city rivals Rosario Central).
