600 reasons why Juventus dominated Serie A
UEFA presented some impressive data, showing how the Bianconeri were able to be the best team in Italy
February 2nd, 2018
Whoever may have followed the Serie A in the last years doesn’t really have to be told how Juventus dominated it hands down, pleasing itself with the opponents and conquering six Scudetto in a row. UEFA website, though, unveiled some interesting data, that confirms in every way the triumphal march made by the Old Lady, that this year - with Napoli’s permission - could bring the silverware back home once again.
The impressive stats, in fact, is that the Bianconeri could reach the unbelievable goal of 600 (six hundred) points reached in the last six and a half years - when Juve extended its dominion over the Serie A - the next weekend. In this lapse of time, there have been 250 games and the Old Lady won 185 of them. The confrontation with the opponents is ruthless, as Napoli, the second team for points gathered, is 93 points back with 505, while Roma stopped at 481. The other ‘big’ are light years behind: Lazio is fourth - still, a massive accomplishment - with 418 points, while AC Milan (415) and Inter (400) can only see Juve by a far distance.
After all, the average of points conquered in the last six and a half years doesn’t lie, as the 2.39 point per game of the Allegri gang (and Conte before him) can’t really be compared with Napoli’s 2.02 and Roma’s 1.92. The most impressive data may be the one about the conceded goals. Since the 2011/12 season, as we said, there have been 250 games played, in which Juventus conceded only 153 goals, outdistancing Napoli and Roma (260 and 262) with more than 100 goals. Maybe at the end of the season, Napoli will be able to change things, but that wouldn’t change a bit about Bianconeri’s unbelievable run.
