During the years, Michael Jordan and everything he has done on the hardwood has been homaged in the most various ways, like the production of special versions of the most famous sneakers in the world. The last one in chronological order is Converse’s that, in order to celebrate the 35th anniversary of MJ’s NCAA title and the championship won last year by North Carolina, is about to release a pair of Converse “Birth of Michael Jordan” Pro Leather.

Nike’s top designers Tinker Hatfield e Dan Sunwoo have designed a “for family and friends” version of the sneaker that Jordan wore in 1982 when he led the Tar Heels to the NCAA title with a late three. For the occasion, the iconic symbol of Converse has been replaced with a “Tar Heel Blue” Jumpman, while on the heel there are some details of the ’82 and ’17 uniforms. The Converse “Birth of Michael Jordan” Pro Leather will be gifted to the current UNC team, as well as friends and family of the program and Jordan Brand.
