The day after the massive defeat suffered in the quarter-final leg of the Champions League against Liverpool, Manchester City has announced that it has signed a multi-year, multi-million pound deal with Tinder, the most famous dating app in the world. This partnership will not only involve the first team, but also the female club and the American 'cousins' of New York City FC. What will it consist of? As you learn from the club's official website, App users and football fans from around the world will benefit from a series of exciting and unique fan engagement activities, such as exclusive access to games, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, and stadium events.

“Football is all about a community of fans, sharing moments, emotions and passion for the sport they love. Together with Tinder, we have a great opportunity to explore how we can combine Tinder's significant appeal and reach with our a global audience to create even more relationships in a new, fun and creative way” said Tom Glick, City Football Group's Chief Commercial Officer, “we believe this will be a perfect match for Tinder and for City.”
On the other hand, the timing of the operation seems really perfect: while a giant blue (like the colors of the Man. City) blimp will fly over the city today, next Saturday, during the derby against Manchester United, the app will change its traditional red color to better support Guardiola's squad, who in case of victory would become champions of England with six games to play.

It is not the first time that Tinder is linked to a football club: last summer many rumors had already circulated about a concrete possibility of an agreement with Manchester United, regarding the sponsorship of the shirts' sleeves. Last May, on the occasion of the return from injury of the Napoli's player, Arkadiusz Milik, Tinder gave to the fans the chance to interact and even meet the Polish striker: an absolutely innovative initiative reached with Napoli's board.
