Liverpool 2018/19 font
Designed to embody iconic characteristics of Anfield Stadium
April 24th, 2018
Last Friday Liverpool and New Balance unveiled the 2018/19 home kit for the reds, that tonight are going to face Roma in Champions League's semifinal. The new kit looks pretty classy: a total red colorway with an irregular pattern on it with just two white stripes on the neck collar and the shoulders. Nonetheless, the jersey is full of cured details, one of those is the font used fo the numbers and the names on the back.
The brand-new custom typeface for the 2018-2019 season references the font used on the main stadium signage at Anfield as well as that used on street signs throughout the city of Liverpool. In addition, depth is added to the numbering by incorporating the bold drop shadow seen in the seating within the stadium itself. The base for the custom font is the Helvetica Neue Condensed Bold.
