Carmelo Anthony’s Air Jordan 9 Melo Mop
Jordan brand celebrates Carmelo Anthony winning college season with an amazing dedicate details shoe
April 24th, 2018
Jordan Brand is honoring Carmelo Anthony with the new Air Jordan 9 Mop Melo drop coming soon. Anthony famously not only led Syracuse to a 2003 National Championship victory, but he set a precedent at the NCAA tournament. In 2003, Syracuse entered the NCAA Tournament as a three seed and finished as champions, earning its first national title ever. That season Melo averaged 22.2 points and set a record with 33 points, the most points ever scored by a freshman in the Final Four. Became also the first freshman to ever lead an eventual champion in scoring. And thus earned the title of Most Outstanding Player for his performance throughout the season and the playoffs.
The sneaker is a sic interpretation of a trophy and the embodiment of a champion. It features a white leather body, brown accents and a bold, shiny, gold midsole. The back features Melo’s number, 15 on the heel and his logo on the insole in script. Another key detail of the trophy inspired sneaker, is the embossed leather resembling a wood grain finish that surrounds the sneaker. The details are ridiculously good on this sneaker.
It’s only right for Jordan Brand to honor Melo’s college championship, as it doesn’t look like he’ll make an NBA Championship anytime soon. He’s luckily out of the circus also known as, the Knicks organization. But in my opinion, the Oklahoma City Thunder has had one of the most underwhelming, performances in the Western Conference from such a talented superstar packed roster. Suggestion: Maybe head coach Billy Donovan needs to cop a pair of these Jordan 9s for the whole team in an effort to get in the championship mindset.
