If you’re NBA basketball enthusiasts, you surely don’t need our help to understand how and how much LeBron is appreciated in Akron, a few miles from Cleveland, his hometown. In the last hours, though, we may have seen one of the craziest and (potentially) most exaggerate demonstrations of love that the city in Ohio has ever seen. Aaron Carey, former St. Vincent-St. Mary High School just like LBJ has launched a GoFundMe campaign to build a statue of the Chosen One, with the goal to reach $1M to build it in Akron.

“LeBron has been the most unifying force to revitalize downtown Cleveland, bringing the Cavaliers their first NBA championship. As true fans, we believe it is time we show our appreciation”. These are Carey’s words, that has already enlisted the sculptor Omri Amrany, that already realized the statues of MJ, Shaq, and Magic Johnson. The goal is ambitious but the campaign is receiving high visibility and maybe in a few months there will really be a King James statue in downtown Cleveland. But what James thinks about this? “First of all, thank you. It would be cool”. Indeed, LeBron, indeed!
