UEFA unveiled 2018-2021 Champions League rebranding
The graphic innovation will regard every single aspect of the most beautiful football competition's games

The reform of the European competitions wanted by UEFA is now a news anymore, as we all know how the new era will bring four Italian clubs straightly to the next Champions League group stage. And in the last hours, the highest management of European football unveiled the rebranding for the Champions League, confirming an all-around revolution for the most beautiful club competition in the world. The stylistic innovations will include every single graphic aspect: from the pre-game images to the game’s scoreboard, stepping by the posts for social media, the games and players presentations, and the stats of the game.
According to UEFA, “the new brand identity introduces vibrant, contemporary design principles that signal a bold step forward for club football’s most prestigious competition”. Within the main innovations, we find the starball that is the background for every Champions League graphic, that is now brighter and more dynamic, even in its moving graphic. The broadcast opening titles have also been modified, embracing the Champions League’s new graphic with on-pitch images that could be changed year after year. The font has also been heavily redesigned, reflecting “the precision and elegance of elite club football.”
There is some other news, like the graphic for social media posts, the one for the Champions League tv studios, the banners that will be exposed inside of the stadiums, and every kind of graphic detail that will regard all the games of the next edition of the Champions League.
