In the last weeks, we talked more than once about the collection realized by Nike Football for Nigeria national team, a series of football jerseys, training tees, sweatshirts, and accessories that literally broke all football enthusiasts, other than Swoosh’s online store, that has been assaulted and ‘plundered’ within a few minutes. We haven’t seen this much hype for the apparel of a national team in many years and it’s good that this happened to an underdog team like the Super Eagles. But Noël Le Graët, president of the French Football Federation, wanted to put things in perspective.

During a talk show with RMC, the boos of French football stated quite straightly that the shirt of the transalpine team is the best-selling one among the ones made by Nike ahead of the World Cup in Russia. "The jersey of the France team is the best-selling in the world, also ahead of Brazil, we are in a total break in the whole world”, said Le Graët. We should take this information seriously as they come from the President of the FFF, even if they apparently contradict the news that Nike received three million orders for the Nigeria jersey.

Right now, there’s no way to confirm or prove those data wrong, as Nike hasn’t released any official figure yet. Clearly, the words of the President of the French Federation have to get more credit than a rumor appeared online, even if, truth to be told, the Nike collection for the Super Eagles did sell out in a glimpse.
