Year after year, the sponsorship deals for football clubs have become richer and richer, starting a proper race to the ‘patch’, on the shirt, on the sleeves, on the training kits and even of the planes used by clubs. In its annual insight on the economic situation of the beautiful game, Forbes drafted a ranking of the clubs that have the highest incomes from the sponsorship deals and in Europe, nobody did better than Barcelona, that earned - or will earn - as much as 247 million dollars, that would be around 215 million euros.
Of course, in the first ten clubs, six of them are from the Premier League, even if there are only two in the top five. In fact, the second place is held by Manchester United, that earns around 200 million dollars from the sponsorships, basically, the same amount cashed by Real Madrid, that is third. Here there’s an important gap, as the fourth tier Chelsea earns $135M, almost a half, while FC Bayern stops at $121M. PSG, sixth with 100 million dollars, leads the way to a quartet of Premier League clubs that close the ranking. Those are Arsenal ($94M), Liverpool ($92M), Tottenham ($81M) and Manchester City ($78M).
