In the last hours in Israel, a massive strike was held in protest against the 'homophobic' law recently approved by the Knesset (Parliament), which will continue to deny surrogate motherhood to single men, including homosexuals couples. The riots were carried out by thousands of LGBT members and activists (the community representing gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people) and involved many cities, including the most important ones such as Jerusalem, Haifa, and Tel Aviv. The protest had a very strong following in the society, being supported by numerous companies that guaranteed the day free for demonstrators.

In the extremely politicized place like the Israeli one, a clear and unequivocal signal came from the country's most famous and titled basketball team, Maccabi Tel Aviv which, in sign of solidarity and support to this campaign, decided to change the colors of its social logo, usually yellow and blue, using those of the rainbow. Through the Twitter profile, in fact, a very strong message was launched: "Maccabi Tel Aviv proudly supports the LGBT community and invites all sports clubs to stand by their side, regardless of race, sex and religion".
