New Balance wants to enter the NBA market with Gordon Hayward
The brand from Massachusetts would like to have the Celtics' superstar as testimonial for this big step

We are in a very active moment in terms of basketball sneakers that, after PUMA’s return a couple of weeks ago, is living - maybe for the first time ever - a situation of great competition, even with Nike and Jordan’s inevitable dominion. While PUMA, adidas, and Under Armour are trying to break the Swoosh’s hegemony, we have to record the news about New Balance that, after realizing some amazing jobs in football, looks ready to enter the NBA market.
In fact, according to reports from ESPN, the brand from Massachusetts is looking for an imminent arrival in the American League, trying to sign a superstar testimonial. The chosen name could be Gordon Hayward’s, the Boston Celtics star that has just returned from a shocking injury that allowed him to play just a bunch of minutes of the last season. Hayward, though, is a really desirable name for New Balance, as he will be one of the most motivated players in the league and - and that’s not a detail - he has a deal with Nike that will expire next August.

The marriage could be perfect for geographic reasons as well, as both New Balance and the Celtics are from Massachusetts, and they have the chance to create a proper connection with a community that breathes basketball as a few others in the league do. Another important detail, New Balance is already fancied to become the naming sponsor for the Celtics’ new training facility, starting a possible relationship with Gordon Hayward as well. So, New Balance is really serious about that and, after appreciating it in football, we look forward to seeing it also in NBA basketball.
