11 esultanze che non vanno dimenticate

A few days ago, while I was happily looking at my Instagram feed when, after the umpteenth video of a French player doing some stupid dances in front of the World Cup celebrated at the Stade de France, I couldn't help but thinking about how the aesthetic of the footballers has changed in the last years.

Watching the video on Instagram, I noticed how I was able to connect every player with his “branded-gestures”: Paul Pogba and the Dab Dance, Blaise Matuidi and the ‘Charo’, Antoine Griezmann and the “victory royale celebration” from Fortnite. From there, my mind wandered to the many footballers that, in the past few years, have made a proper brand out of their celebrations, with dedicated merchandise, social campaigns and many more. Thinking about it I can name: Paulo Dybala’s Dybalamask, Jesse Lingard’s J-Lingz alter ego, the statuary “Siuuuu” made by Cristiano Ronaldo, the #EpicBrozo hashtag made by Brozovic, the numerous hand gestures by Dele Alli, Gareth Bale’s heart-shaped hands, Luis Suarez’s pistolero gesture with multiple kisses and I’m surely forgetting many of them. And I had to ask myself: “Is this our world now?”

Even if I don’t consider myself a nostalgic guy, I really think football has lost some of its spontaneity as we have lost all the coolest celebrations imitated by all the kids at the playground in the Nineties and 00s. So, I’ve gathered for you some of the best celebrations I can remember, to help the new generations not to forget history. Random order, heart choices.
