Estudiantes' total white shirt
Umbro presented a special kit for the 50th anniversary of the Intercontinental Cup's winning
October 17th, 2018
For the Estudiantes fans it was a special day: October 16th was entirely dedicated to the memory of the Intercontinental Cup won in 1968 against George Best's Manchester United. Among celebrations of various kinds, which were attended by almost all the leaders of the club and a massive presence of aficionados, Umbro also wanted to join this collective tribute. The English technical sponsor, who could soon conclude the contract with the club of La Plata, has created a completely white celebratory shirt for the occasion.
The uniform is very similar to that worn by the South Americans in the Old Trafford final draw 1-1 thanks to the goal of the father of Juan Sebastian Veron, the current president of the club. Although is totally white, it's full of rich details: inside the collar there is a phrase in red that says "A la gloria no se llega por un camino de rosas", then there is also a special badge that recalls the 50th anniversary of that historical trophy, another small wording that simply recites 'campeon del mundo' and a small image of the cup, bottom right. The jersey has been reproduced in a limited edition: the items are only 1968, just like the year that has become unforgettable.
