Toronto Raptors' star refuse to renew with Jordan e will be the new testimonial of the Boston company
November 29th, 2018
According to the reliable source of Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the star of the Toronto Raptors Kawhi Leonard seems to have signed a multi-year contract with New Balance, which in recent months already tried to signing DeMarcus Cousins and Gordon Hayward. This would be the brand's biggest deal since James Worthy.
The two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and former San Antonio Spurs chose the Boston company after refusing a four-year $ 22 million contract extension with the Jordan brand.
It is not official. Me and New Balance have not announced anything yet.
Kawhi didn't say anything in the last interview, yesterday, but as ESPN's Nick DePaula explains, it's normal for a brand to take about 10 days to get its "match rights clause", so it's plausible that the new Leonard-New Balance agreement can be made official from next week.
