February 8th, 2019
The Premier League is certainly the most beautiful championship in the world and London the most important city for the number of teams. Despite Arsenal FC, Tottenham, Chelsea FC, and West Ham UTD are the most prestigious and titled, the first team born in the English capital is Fulham FC, which celebrates its 140th anniversary in 2019. To pay tribute to a rich history, the Cottagers presented a special celebratory shirt during the event organized at Fulham St. Andrew's Church, where the club was born in 1879, a mile away from Craven Cottage, the stadium where plays the team coached by Claudio Ranieri.
The club, founded by John Henry Cardwell, was born from a nucleus of young parish faithful and only in 1889 that team became the Fulham Football club, adopting the typical white and black colors. The design of the celebratory shirt is inspired by this symbol of identity. The design is simple, two colors divide the shirt in vertical, the sleeves are on both sides black as well as the adidas three stripes on the shoulders. To complete the kit the black shorts and white socks. For the occasion, the crest was also modified, placed on the left chest, in black and completed by the writing "140 Years". The uniform will be worn for the first time during the summer matches for the beginning of 2019/2020 season.
At the launch event were attended by many groups of loyal fans and former footballers, including Gordon Davies, Fulham FC’s record goal scorer. Only 1879 copies of the shirt were made, numbered in each model and now on sale in the club's online store.
