Umbro plans to conquer African football
The British brand has just become the technical sponsor of Zimbabwe, Botswana and Ethiopia
February 18th, 2019
The Umbro's 2019 starts with a lot of news (have you already taken a look at the special shirt for the 120 years of Werder Bremen?), almost all about African football: the British brand has in fact formalized new technical partnerships with small National teams like Zimbabwe, Botswana and Ethiopia (none of the three should participate in the next Africa Cup of Nations) but also with prestigious club teams like the Zambian current champions of ZESCO United and the Kenyan AFC Leopards.
After the incredible success with the Nike-Nigeria collaboration in 2018 and with the historic agreements between Puma and the best teams of the continent, focusing strongly on the enormous potential of the African football seems a precise strategy of Umbro, and that's why we expect other news soon. The Manchester company moreover already has a very solid base to work on: Umbro is in fact already the official supplier of some of the most followed teams such as Al Ahly, Hearts of Oak, Club Africain and Esperance Tunis.
