Here's the new New York City FC's home jersey
The New York team has unveiled the new home kit for the upcoming MLS season
February 20th, 2019
The MLS ended just two months ago with the Atlanta United's triumph thanks to the unstoppable Josef Martinez, and now it's time to restart, next March 2nd. For the franchises (which will become 24 with the Cincinnati FC debut) arrives the moment to unveil the new kits for the next season: among them there's New York City FC that, through its social channels, presented their new home shirts. The club's jersey is produced by adidas - that has a partnership with the all the MLS teams - and is sky blue with blue and orange cuffs on the sleeves and the collar, with the blue three stripes on the sides. By the way, the strong point of the shirt is the vertical stripe that on the left divides in two sides the jersey, under the team's crest and main sponsor. The stripe, blue and separated by a slim orange line, gives a touch of originality at the jersey, since ever criticized of being too similar to that of the English "cousins" of Manchester City with who they share the club colors and the sponsor, Etihad.
That's not all: as we know by the colors, the jersey clearly pays homage to New York City, represented both with the flag of the city on the back, under the collar, and the pigeon, the symbol of the Big Apple, at the bottom left of the front band. The uniform will make its debut in the friendly against Minnesota United, set in Orlando.
