The return of the adidas Predator

Maybe we are talking about the shoe that most marked the last 30 years of football, worn by great players like Kakà, Del Piero, Gerrard and Raúl but became a cult thanks to David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane, the two biggest testimonials of adidas Predator. The model designed by Craig Johnston, in 2019 turns 25 years old and for this occasion, adidas has presented the '25 Year of Predator' Pack, which proposes, along with a line of clothes, two revised versions of the Predator Accelerator and Predator Precision.

The 'Accelerators' are the model worn by Zizou during the World Cups won in 1998 and are a tribute to France nation and to the Golden Ball, won in the same year. The upper is made of K-leather, with details in blue, red and white, the same colors of the 4 laces inserted inside the box. On the heel, the shoe is personalized by the letters ZZ, initials of the former captain of the Bleu.

The model created for Beckham is a revival of the shoe of 2001, worn by the spice boy in the famous goal against Greece, which allowed the English national team to qualify for the World Cup in Korea and Japan in 2002. It is inspired by the colors of the English national team the 2019 version, white with the red tongue and the three gold stripes, recently taken also in the 'Sobakov' sneaker model. The initials DB are inserted on the heel.

Launched this morning, the pack will be completed by the end of March by a third model of adidas Predator 19+ DBZZ, in the colors of gold and navy blue, combining the codes of the two vintage models.

For both models of the '25 Year of Predator 'Pack will be available a jersey, a shirt and a suit, which is inspired by that of Real Madrid 2003/2004 season, the year in which the two players played both for the Galacticos.

The design of the shoes is as faithful as possible to the original, with the characteristic lace-up tongue, a detail lost in recent years but which, together with the bold Three Stripes, has made the Predators iconic. The evolution consists of technology, especially in the sole, which incorporates the lighter one of the 19+ model. In addition to the football boots, the Trainer versions were also created, with identical colors but flat Boost sole, for harder and indoor surfaces.

It is not confirmed how many numbers are available, certainly this collection will not leave fans of football nostalgia and elegance indifferent, the real meeting point between adidas, Beckham and Zidane.
