Five football matches to watch this weekend
Juve-Milan, the De Klassiker and the new Spanish Clasico
April 5th, 2019
After a busy week in which we have done nothing but watch football games, between the midweek of the Serie A and the competitions of the top European leagues, here we go again: it's Friday and another football weekend is about to start. Absolute priority for the two high-ranking matches that could decide the fight for the title in Germany and Spain respectively. In England, in addition to the Premier League, there are also the FA Cup semi-finals.
Southampton - Liverpool
when: Friday 5/4 at 9pm
where: St. Mary's/Sky Sport
There are only six games before the end of the Premier League and we do not want to lose any game that could potentially decide the title: it starts already Friday night with the challenge between Saints and Reds, which will say a lot about the ambitions of Klopp's team, which has the goal to return to the top by taking advantage of the Manchester City stop, engaged in the FA Cup. It could be a special match for Manè and Van Dijk, which return to the stadium that made them great.
Juventus - AC Milan
when: Saturday 6/4 at 6pm
where: Allianz Stadium/Sky Sport
Juventus are two wins away from the mathematical certainty of winning the eighth Scudetto in a row and on Saturday could already take a big step towards the title by defeating Milan in the big match of the day, even if their mind could already be in Amsterdam because of the Champions League game against Ajax. In the other side, AC Milan is back from two bad weeks: the defeats against Inter and Samp, the draw at home with Udinese and the injuries of Donnarumma and Paquetà.
Bayern Munich - Borussia Dortmund
when: Saturday 6/4 at 6:30pm
where: Allianz Arena/Sky Sport
Among the five great European leagues, the Bundesliga is one of the most uncertain, especially at the top. Having also had 9 points ahead over the course of the season, Borussia Dortmund now leads with only two points to Bayern Munich, and on Saturday there is the clash between the two title contenders. The Der Klassiker is scheduled in Munich and the Bavarians have the chance to overcome the black&yellow, with seven matches from the end of the league.
Barcelona - Atletico Madrid
when: Saturday 6/4 at 8:45pm
where: Camp Nou/DAZN
There's a top clash also in La Liga, where Barcelona hosts Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou with the intention of definitively closing the title rush: the Catalans in the midweek lost two points but still lead with a considerable advantage, eight points. The spotlights are obviously on Leo Messi, who is living an exceptional moment and that when he plays against the colchoneros he often manages to be lethal. However, we'll be satisfied to see an exciting game like that seen in the first leg.
Inter - Atalanta
when: Sunday 7/4 at 6pm
where: San Siro/Sky Sport
These days we wouldn't miss Inter games at all, unpredictable like no other, but not even the Atalanta ones, because is often a pleasure to see them play football. That's why on Sunday afternoon we will not take our eyes off the TV: in addition to Gasperini who returns to San Siro and Gagliardini who challenges his former teammates there are two teams in full tussle for the European placings that will give battle.
