In a statement released by Boca Juniors on Tuesday, the Argentinian club announced the intention not to renew the sponsorship contract that binds it to Nike.
The Xeneizes have announced that they have opened a dialogue with top-level brands, to guarantee support in all of the company's sports activities. For a long time, Boca has been unable to reach agreements with the swoosh, which nevertheless maintains priority over any offer made by competitors until December 31st of this year.
According to the Argentine press, the favorites would be Under Armor, PUMA and New Balance, while an agreement with adidas, sponsor of the rivals of River Plate and the Argentine national team, is less likely. It is not excluded that this release is a strategy to shorten the renewal time and raise Nike's economic proposal.
The one between the club of Buenos Aires and Nike is a partnership that has lasted for 23 years, currently the longest running of the American brand and a football club, one of the most loved and winning in the world, with which it has won over 11 Argentine championships also 4 Libertadores Cup and 2 Club World Cups.
