It was 1968 when on the football pitches debuted the PUMA KING, one of the most iconic football boots ever, worn by legends like Pelé, Eusebio, Maradona and Cruyff. At God's feet, in short. From the beginning, the boots conquered everyone for the quality of their materials and for their comfort, so PUMA Football has decided to dust off them fifty-one years after their debut on the market to allow the new generations to discover the historical value of these boots.
Renamed as PUMA King Platinum, it's about of "a return to the past with all due updgrades" signed by PUMA. This because the boots reintroduce the premium quality materials, keep their comfort and their unique style but even add the latest technologies of the sector, making the boot fashionable and accessible for all.
To allow this, PUMA has invited to collaborate at the born of its new creation the former champion Thierry Henry. The former Arsenal and Barcelona's striker said he was enthusiastic to back on work with the German brand, claiming how the PUMA KING is still a modern boot after over half a century from its put on sale. "To update this iconic boot we have applied the same formula of yesteryear, concentrating on the mastery and the technic performances on the objective to satisfy the requirements of the modern footballer" say Henry, who testifies the large work of technologic update done by PUMA on the boot.
In fact, the new PUMA King Platinum present a 3D reinterpretation of the soft premium K-Leather upper, obtained to permit the player to control better than ever the ball. The structure of the boot was improved too, making it thinner and making the toe adherent to have more comfort and a better fit. Then, the major update was given to the sole, made ultralight with the "RAPIDSPRINT" system aimed at conferring the player a superior sprint and speed.
