James Harden joins Houston Dynamo ownership group

A few days ago we saw him wearing the new Arsenal away shirt, playing football (in a rather clumsy way, it must be said) with the young Gunners striker, Reiss Nelson. Now James Harden has gone even further, becoming the owner of a small stake of the group that controls the Houston Dynamo's franchise and also the women's team, the Houston Dash. On the other hand, the 29-year-old California-born champion is now a Texan by adoption, and with the city of Houston has established a very deep relationship, after he landed in 2012, as he also stated in the statement published in recent hours:

"Houston is my home now, and I saw this as a way to invest in my city and expand my business interests at the same time. Soccer in general, and especially MLS, have exploded in this country throughout my lifetime. I’ve been a fan of the game for several years, and I know that Houston has a massive soccer fanbase, so it was an easy decision for me when this opportunity arose."

However, Harden's bet on the future of the American team is very limited, given that it's just a 5% of the entire group, which also includes the control of the BBVA Stadium and has an overall valuation of 475 million dollars according to ESPN, owned by a small group of people headed by the Mexican Gabriel Brener, including boxing star Oscar De La Hoya and two private investors, Ben Guill and Jake Silverstein.
