September 25th, 2019
A few months ago we were talking about the possible future developments of the gaming-streetwear union, and it wasn't a coincidence: eSports are a reality increasingly growing on the world scene, a trend that could soon become an Olympic discipline that even fashion brands can no longer underestimate: Louis Vuitton, for example, has just formalized the first and historic collaboration with Riot Games, the American company that launched League of Legends in 2009. The famous online video game that has involved millions of players around the world is getting ready to live the final phases of the Summoner's Cup, the world championship organized by Riot Games, after which the prestigious trophy will be awarded to the best gamers in the world, back from the stages of Berlin, Madrid and Paris, where the final act will be played on November 10th.
Louis Vuitton will create the tailored box in which the trophy will be transported, while for the future they already planned the release of a capsule collection designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton Women's Collections. As stated by Naz Aletaha, head of Global Esports Partnerships at Riot Games, it's "a historic partnership that talks about the impact of Riot Games and League of Legends on the industry over the last nine seasons of eSports".
