Supreme copied the design of a track jacket from Inter
Two items that don't seem to have 20 years of difference
April 17th, 2020
We are all aware of how Supreme constantly takes inspiration from items that come from product sectors other than fashion, so much so that they even lead to forced collaborations outside the box.
Supreme copies has even written a book on the subject, explaining how the line between plagiarism, celebration and inspiration is a thin and slippery border on which Supreme has always remained in voluntary balance.
After launching polo shirts in collaboration with Playboy in the SS 2018 collection that remembered a lot of soccer kits, the latest found related to football concerns the ''big letter jacket'' present in the last drop.
In fact, that huge lettering sewn on the sweatshirt reminds a lot of a ''jacket'' already seen at the beginning of the 90s on the Serie A football fields: it is in fact the representation uniform of Inter 1991-92 season.
Thinking about plagiarism seems to be the most automatic thing, but what if it were a simple tribute to the city that will host the opening of the next James Jebbia store?
The closeness between fashion, streetwear and football is becoming ever greater, who knows if the trend will disappear or we will see the red Supreme logo printed as a sponsor instead of Pirelli.
